 The Role of PRPs

  1. Providing the basic operating conditions necessary for the production of safe and healthy food.
  2. Control of general/site-wide, low-risk risks which may Affect all/many areas, products, and processes.

  3. Provide a foundation for the HACCP system.

  4. Managing general/low-risk risk and permitting HACCP

    Criticality by focusing on the significant risks specific to the product/process.

  5. Reduce the amount of redundancy in the HACCP system.

  6. Enabling a simpler, more focused HACCP system.
